The Orient Cables IPO enters its second day of bidding on September 26, with the issue set to remain open for three days. In the grey market, the IPO is currently commanding a GMP of 33%, indicating expectations of a potential premium over the issue price at listing. However, GMP is an unofficial market indicator and can change before the shares make their debut.On Day 1, the IPO was subscribed 1.96 times overall against 1.49 crore shares on offer.

The Retail Individual Investors (RII) category was subscribed 2.43 times against 74.88 lakh shares reserved for the segment.The Rs 552 crore Orient Cables IPO is a book-built issue comprising a fresh issue of 1.18 crore shares aggregating to Rs 320 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 85.29 lakh shares worth Rs 232 crore.The IPO will remain open from September 25 to September 27, 2026.

The allotment is expected to be finalised on September 30, while the shares are likely to list on the NSE and BSE on October 5, 2026, subject to applicable timelines.The company has fixed the IPO price band at Rs 258-Rs 272 per share, with a lot size of 55 shares. At the upper end of the price band, retail investors will need a minimum investment of Rs 14,960 for one lot.IIFL Capital Services Ltd. and JM Financial Ltd. are the book-running lead managers to the issue, while KFin Technologies Ltd.

It can fluctuate before listing depending on market conditions and investor sentiment.IPO Objects of the IssueOrient Cables (India) plans to use the net proceeds to fund its capital expenditure requirements, including purchasing machinery and equipment and civil works at its manufacturing facilities.

Around Rs 91.50 crore has been earmarked for this purpose.The company also proposes to utilise Rs 155.50 crore towards the repayment or prepayment of certain outstanding borrowings, either fully or partially. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.Financial PerformanceOrient Cables (India) Ltd.'s total income increased 42% to Rs 1,182 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 832 crore in FY25.
