Nissan Motor has unveiled its all-new Pixo battery-powered small city car, developed in partnership with Renault mainly for European markets, under the Japanese automaker’s ‘Mobility Intelligence for Everyday Life’ theme. The new Pixo expands Nissan’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) line-up into the A-segment, with deliveries to customers scheduled to begin in early 2027.

The Pixo, designed for urban driving, is powered by a 27.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery that provides a driving range of up to 259 km. It is the first LFP battery to feature in a Nissan model in Europe, and comes with a 50 kW DC rapid charging system and an 11 kW AC home charging system as standard. The electric drive motor has a maximum power output of 60 kW.

The Pixo also comes with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including automated emergency braking, a lane-keeping system, and e‑pedal technology. Connected technologies include the MyNissan navigation app, providing real-time route planning, charging and vehicle functions, as well as built-in Google Gemini AI assistant.

The Japanese automaker noted that the Pixo draws on the shared expertise and complementary strengths of both Nissan and Renault to deliver a city car that meets the needs of European customers. It was designed by Nissan and will be produced at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia, “demonstrating how the Alliance’s capabilities bring relevant new products to customers with speed and efficiency.”

Massimiliano Messina, chairman of Nissan’s Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania (AMIEO) division, said in a statement: “The future of electric mobility is about smarter vehicles that fit naturally into people’s lives. The Pixo was designed specifically for Europe, for our cities — giving customers everything they need from an EV, without unnecessary complexity.

As fuel costs rise, the case for switching to electrified vehicles only grows stronger.
